Marcello Giorgio - Large centerpiece container in 999 silver and Electroforming - 2.5 kg Splendid and imposing vintage Baroque-style centerpiece, made by the renowned Italian artistic silverware manufacturer Marcello Giorgio. The piece stands out for a rich and elaborate high-relief perimetral garland that reproduces motifs of mixed fruit (grapes, figs, pomegranates) and leaves, finely crafted. The design bears the signature engraved on the plate by the sculptor and art modeller M. T...., a detail that elevates the work to a true collectible sculpture. The artifact is made with the refined Italian electroforming technique: a substantial internal core of solid resin (which gives the object a monumental weight of no less than 2485 grams and exceptional stability of support) entirely clad on the outside with a precious 999 silver layer. On the metal band of the base are perfectly impressed and legible all the Italian legal hallmarks certifying its absolute authenticity. The official State hallmark ★ 117 MC (identification code of the Marcello Giorgio factory registered in Macerata). The object is complete in every original part, including the mirrored lid finished with a red spherical knop and the original anti-scratch protective cloth applied to the bottom of the base to protect furniture. It is offered in its original vintage conditions, with its signs of time. A piece of furnishings with great visual impact, luxury and elegance, perfect for collectors of art silverware and Italian mid-century modern. Good vintage condition, structurally intact. It presents a natural patina of oxidation from time on the silver surface, a stain on the lid and micro-scratches from handling on the smoothened lid, which testify to its era and authenticity.
