Manner of the Renaissance /following Marco Palmezzano (ca. 1459–1539). The Holy Family with the Young Saint John the Baptist. Painting depicting the Virgin Mary, the Infant Jesus, Saint Joseph, and the Young Saint John. The composition follows the stylistic characteristics of the Forlì School and Marco Palmezzano. Based on its classical iconography and state of preservation, the painting is primarily attributed to the 19th century (Historicism). However, given the depth and structure of the pronounced craquelure, an earlier date of origin in the 17th or 18th century (Baroque) or as an early 16th-century copy cannot be completely ruled out. Provenance: German private collection. Oil on canvas, with very pronounced, deep craquelure (age-related cracks in the paint layer) across the entire surface due to age; restored some time ago. Dimensions: 50 x 40 cm. Provenance: French private collection. No reserve.
