Fossil: Rare, beautiful, large, very well-preserved Plesiosaurus tooth Length: 60 mm Formation: Cretaceous, Maastrichtian (70 million years) - Khouribga, Morocco The Plesiosaurus is a member of the extinct genus of marine reptiles. Plesiosaurus was one of the early marine reptiles discovered, alongside Ichthyosaurus and Mosasaurus. Plesiosaurus could reach a length of up to 17 meters, making it one of the largest marine reptiles to have ever lived. This beautifully preserved tooth of the extinct sea creature comes from phosphate mines in Morocco. The find comes from a collection liquidation.
