Mariner's compass - Plastic

Old gimbaled marine compass Doris by Plastimo, French-made, probably from the 1960s–1970s. Magnetic compass graduated 360°, mounted on a gimbal to stay horizontal despite the boat’s movement, and kept in its wooden box with visible joints and a transparent lid. Original label marked “DORIS CARDAN – PLASTIMO – App. Mar. Mar. Classe B. 302 SN” and the dial marked “PLASTIMO – FRANCE.” The set shows a nice vintage patina with scratches and signs of use visible, particularly on the box and lid. Beautiful French nautical instrument for collection and marine decoration.
