Mario Roig Vidal (XX-XXI) - Orilla Marina - XL format

Mario Roig Vidal: a life devoted to pictorial excellence Speaking of Mario Roig Vidal is to speak of an artistic career built with patience, discipline, and the passion of those who have dedicated a lifetime to art. His work is one of those increasingly rare cases where natural talent combines with decades of steady work to yield a solid, coherent, and deeply personal production. Born with a special sensitivity for observing nature and the landscapes that surround him, Mario Roig Vidal developed from a young age an intimate relationship with painting. Over the years he has consolidated his own language, far from fleeting fashions and based on the constant search for beauty, harmony, and visual emotion. His artistic career has unfolded over decades, giving rise to an extraordinarily wide body of work that includes seascapes, mountain landscapes, historic towns, rural scenes, rugged coasts, fishing ports, urban corners, and compositions inspired by Spain’s natural richness. Each work reflects not only great technical ability but also a deep understanding of atmosphere, light, and the unique character of each place represented. One of the most admirable aspects of Mario Roig Vidal is his fidelity to an authentic artistic vision. While many artists have followed changing trends, he has remained true to honest painting, built on solid drawing, rigorous observation, and extraordinary chromatic sensitivity. This coherence has allowed his work to maintain a perfectly recognizable identity and a steady quality throughout his career. His painting style is characterized by a masterful combination of realism, lyricism, and emotion. In his canvases, nature is not merely a photographic representation; it becomes a visual experience filled with feeling. Light becomes the protagonist, reflections take on a life of their own, and each landscape seems to contain a quiet story that invites the viewer to stop and contemplate. Particularly notable is his ability to capture the essence of the landscapes of northern Spain, the Cantabrian cliffs, traditional ports, mountain villages, and the atmospheric changes that define these environments. Likewise, his compositions transmit a serenity and emotional depth that connect immediately with the observer. Mario Roig Vidal’s work also has a quality that only truly mature artists reach: timelessness. His paintings do not depend on fashion, currents, or circumstantial trends. They are works that retain their aesthetic strength over time and continue to move new generations of viewers and collectors. Throughout his career, his exhibitions and gallery presence have helped consolidate a reputation based on the quality and seriousness of his work. His painting has found admirers both in Spain and abroad, becoming part of private collections and arousing the interest of art lovers who value technical excellence and artistic sensitivity. Today, Mario Roig Vidal continues to work actively from his studio in Alcoy (Alicante, Spain), keeping intact the passion that has guided his whole life. His production keeps growing and enriching a artistic legacy that already occupies a prominent place within contemporary Spanish landscape and figurative painting. From a collector’s perspective, acquiring an original work by Mario Roig Vidal represents an exceptional opportunity. This oil on canvas composition offers a serene maritime scene dominated by several traditional fishing boats resting on the fine golden sand of the shore. The diagonal perspective skillfully guides the eye from the foreground—where the vivid details in red, green, and blue of the boats stand out—toward a peaceful horizon where the shore meets the blue waters and a softly clouded sky. With a delicate handling of the lights and shadows cast upon the coast, the work evokes the quiet of paused nautical work and an atmosphere of deep marine nostalgia.
