Splendid and rare original vintage photograph depicting Vittorio Emanuele III of Savoy, King of Italy, in a military uniform as a General of the Army. The portrait, dating from the World War I period (circa 1918), is one of the famous institutional shots taken by the renowned portrait photographer Mario Nunes Vais. The sovereign is shown bust-length, adorned with the highest honors and the plaque of the Order of the Most Holy Annunciation. • Large salon/office-format: about 20 x 25 cm (ideal for framing). • Back features: It bears the original catalog number of the archival negative plate (11901), typical of official or ministerial prints of the era destined for public offices and barracks. • Condition: Excellent overall condition as in the photo. The image surface is sharp, well contrasted, and free of significant cuts or creases. Only very slight, normal signs of aging on the edges that do not affect the portrait at all. Clean back. A piece of great historical charm, perfect for militaria collectors, Kingdom of Italy memorabilia, or lovers of early 20th-century historical photography.
