Markus Lüpertz (born 1941) - Drawing “Untitled” An expressive original work (unique piece) on paper by Markus Lüpertz, one of the defining German artists of post-war art. The drawing-painting execution combines spontaneous line work with a lively, deliberately free use of color. Artist: Markus Lüpertz, (born 1941) Title: Untitled Year: undated Technique: drawing on paper Sheet size: ca. 14.8 × 21 cm Frame size: ca. 20 × 27 cm Framing: black frame Signature: bottom right monogrammed Provenance: from private collection NRW, Düsseldorf Markus Lüpertz is among the significant representatives of German Neo-Expressionism. His artistic work encompasses painting, drawing, graphics, and sculpture. A hallmark of his oeuvre is the combination of figuration and abstraction, whereby traditional motifs are transformed into a distinctive, often powerful and deliberately reduced visual language. Especially his works on paper frequently display a special immediacy: color, line, and gesture stand on equal footing and reveal the process of creation.
