Split and exclusive triptych of original oil paintings on canvas, entirely handmade. This unique lot consists of three coordinated portraits that celebrate innate grace, anatomical elegance, and noble expressiveness of the different sighthound breeds. The three artworks create an exceptional visual counterpoint, specially structured for a dynamic and symmetrical wall exhibition: • Central Artwork (40x30 cm): A monumental vertically oriented portrait that constitutes the focal heart of the triptych. Characterized by intense chromatic energy, the fawn-and-trag?ed greyhound emerges proudly from an abstract, textured background in vibrant tones of fire red and midnight blue. • Left Artwork (30x24 cm): Dedicated to the timeless charm of a long-haired greyhound (Saluki/Afghan style). The flowing texture of the coat is rendered with warm honey and bronze hues on a classic, atmospheric background. • Right Artwork (30x24 cm): A close-up and refined profile portrait of a light-coated greyhound, focusing on the depth of gaze and the delicacy of the silhouette, enveloped by a dark, soft background that enhances its plasticity. The richness of oil painting manifests in evident textured surfaces and delicate light graduations, making each canvas a unique, non-reproducible piece (no prints, no digital retouching). All paintings have painted edges and are ready to hang directly on the wall or be placed in a frame. The true strength of this triptych lies in the extraordinary variety and materiality of the brushstrokes, which demonstrate deep mastery of oil painting and create a fascinating visual contrast between the subjects and their backgrounds: • Textured and dynamic brushstrokes: In the backgrounds, especially in the central piece, the artist employed a rich, energetic, layered application. The color touches are decisive, leaving the pigment in relief on the canvas to capture ambient light and give movement and modernity to the whole composition. • Fluid and descriptive strokes: Conversely, in the greyhounds’ portraits the brushwork becomes incredibly soft, precise, and directional. The artist follows the dogs’ anatomy meticulously: sinuous lines and swift descriptions depict the taut neck musculature, while ultra-fine, light strokes like threads of light define the coat’s shininess, the whiskers on the muzzle, and the extraordinary softness of the flowing fur in the left piece. • Expressivity and nuances: Of particular note is the treatment around the greyhounds’ eyes. Here the brushstrokes become dense with color and contrast, concentrating maximum definition in the light points to give the animals a nearly human, deep, moist, and living gaze. This triptych does not arise from simple photographs, but is the fruit of a deep and passionate study of the animals from life. The artist regularly attended specialized dog shows, gatherings, and had close contact with various realities, including kennels, to observe the greyhounds in their element, understand their psychology, and capture their most authentic essence. This research path is clearly reflected in every canvas: • Study of coat and textures: Every reflection and shade of fur was studied from life under different natural light conditions, allowing a masterful rendering of the silk-like sheen of short fur and the flowing softness of long fur. • Anatomical rigor and expressivity: Regular presence and direct observation allowed a thorough understanding of the proud skeletal structure and the taut musculature typical of greyhounds, but above all to capture the depth of their gaze, often marked by a gentle and noble melancholy. This “en plein air” approach gives the works a vibrant soul and documentary artistic value, turning the triptych into a prized piece for true breed enthusiasts and art collectors. High-Durability Professional Pigments: The paintings were created using exclusively extra-fine quality oil colors, rich in pure pigments with very high lightfastness. This guarantees that the brilliance of the reds, the depth of the blues, and the delicate nuances of the coat remain unchanged for decades, without yellowing. The studied difference in proportions (the central focal piece 40x30 cm flanked by the two canvases 30x24 cm) breaks the monotony of classic geometric series. It is recommended to space the canvases about 5-8 cm apart from one another to achieve the maximum scenographic impact above a sideboard, a sofa, or in a professional studio.
