Cruel act of the Lord of Saint John at Ligoure, a Limousin nobleman, who caused his wife and, indeed, his whole household to be carried off and burned his castle in a fit of miserable, raging madness, with his end following thereupon. 8. How the end came to the children of Emperor Frederick II, meanwhile they had fallen away from the church, and he persecuted the Supreme Shepherd, who holds his throne in Rome. 9. Of a young maiden who threw herself into a well and strangled herself, at the behest of a certain student, whom her father would not permit her to marry. 10. Various lamentable histories arising from the calumnies or false accusations of a lover against his beloved, how she was found innocent, and they both died.
