"Among the Ruins of the Labyrinth" is a unique work by Maurizio Rapiti. The technique used is oil and fluorescent acrylics on canvas. Compared to the artist's other subjects, this painting is not a reinterpretation copy of a famous painting, but an original work completely invented by Rapiti. The skein in the painting is made with fluorescent colors; when illuminated with a Wood lamp, the red “lights up.” In photo 4 I tried to show the difference of the work in the presence and absence of UV light; unfortunately it can only give a vague idea of the actual rendering, because it is very difficult to photograph the Fluorescent effect. The painting is framed as seen in photo 3. In recent years several magazines have devoted articles to Maurizio Rapiti’s art (examples in photos 5-6-7). A copy of UpArte (photo 7) will be shipped together with the painting to whoever buys the work. The artist has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, the main ones in recent years: "Radical Visions" - Mupa - Ginosa (TA) 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcaQMCBGaXQ "Put a Piercing in the Baroque" - Rosy Boa - Arezzo 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmE0KeJJ9Bg "Maurizio Rapiti" - The Reflex Gallery - Valdichiana Village (AR) 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH11s_Cpdwg "Alienatio" - Castello di Candelara - Candelara (PU) 2024 https://marcheinfinite.com/2024/07/04/alienatio-la-pittura-di-francesco-campese-e-maurizio-rapiti-inaugura-al-castello-di-candelara-domenica-7-luglio/ "Salotto Borghese" - Spazio Art&People - Sansepolcro (AR) 2024 https://www.lanazione.it/cosa-fare/il-salotto-borghese-di-maurizio-rapiti-e-meri-ciuchi-a-sansepolcro-bf62wsl0 "Engaging Masters" - Museum of Art - Las Cruces New Mexico 2025 https://www.instagram.com/mauriziorapiti/reel/DH6Xw5Dspcm/ "Dialogus Temporum" - Spazio Espositivo Palazzo del Podestà - Città di Castello (PG) 2026 https://www.ttv.it/cultura/maurizio-rapiti-il-respiro-del-presente-che-attraversa-i-grandi-classici-dellarte/ Biography: Born in Sansepolcro in 1985, Maurizio Rapiti takes his first steps in the art world in his father’s studio, an expert copyist, collaborating with him on the creation of the so-called “forgeries by authors.” Such training will be the basis of a path that becomes increasingly personal, focused on experimentation and the mixing of techniques but always with a look toward the figurative. Since 2017 Rapiti has returned to dedicating himself to the masterpieces of the past, but this time filtered through the lens of a maturity capable of making them a vehicle to display his own personality. Formal care and the search for aesthetic pleasure remain the foundation of works that, at a superficial glance, seem to mock the sacral monsters of classical painting; with closer observation they reveal a critique, tinged with irony, of our times. For several years the artist has been devoted to poster art, posting his prints in the metal mailboxes on streets (see the last 4 photos). Rapiti has recently collaborated with the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, creating a work whose photo and the video of its creation were shared on the official Olympic social pages (@Olympics) https://www.instagram.com/p/DVE60Iqgn9J/ Over the years Rapiti has also had the opportunity to collaborate with institutions; on two occasions he created the posters for the events of “Confindustria Cisambiente” and in 2021 he produced the image of the international Dante conference “A Great Excluded Among the Excluded.” To prepare the shipment, 3 business days are required.
