Maurizio Savini (1962) - Safety jacket 2009

Maurizio Savini's sculpture is made using a fiberglass-reinforced structure, pink and cream chewing gum. His art grapples with the lightness of childhood through an ephemeral and perishable material like the reality we live in. The base is a white-painted MDF panel measuring 63 x 56 cm. It is equipped with two red lights that light up via a perfectly functioning 220 V adapter. It shows small cracks and crazing due to the normal degradation of the material used and a few tiny broken pieces. For shipping, it will be carefully packed to prevent damage.
