Extremely Rare medieval stoneware tankard with cream-colored salt glaze Beer mug or stoneware tankard with a cream-colored salt glaze. Cylindrical shape slightly conical, flat base and large circular-section handle.. The mug is ornamented in relief with three figurative scenes, each in its own panel. The two side scenes show Semiramis crowned with a crown, with the inscription SIMIRAMIS 1959/1960. She holds a sword in her right hand and a dove in her left hand. A lion or a tiger sits at her feet. The central scene depicts Venus accompanied by Cupid. The lower sections feature two-headed eagles on the sides and coats of arms in the center. This stoneware tankard was made in the Siegburg region around the 16th century. It is covered with a fine salt glaze of cream color.
