Ca. AD 1100 - 1300. An iron sword with a long, straight double-edged blade tapering to a pointed tip, with a shallow central fuller extending along the length. A curved crossguard with rounded terminals separates the blade from the short rectangular grip. The hilt ends in a large pommel. For similar see: London Museum, Object ID: A2373. Size: 910mm x 140mm; Weight: 800g Provenance: From a London private collection; purchased on the German art market in Munich before 2000.
