All auctions / Contemporary Art / MEDSAN - Blueberry Cake Alice (ブルーベリーケーキのアリス) - UNIQUE WORK
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1 In this square format, Medsan frames in close-up Alice, the heroine of Alice in Wonderland, eyes closed and head slightly tilted. Her blonde hair falls to her shoulders, held by a blue headband and a large blue bow above her left ear. She wears her blue dress and white frilled apron. An diagonal slash descends from her right cheek to her bust and opens the inside of the character: pale-yellow cake tiers alternating with white cream and rows of round blueberries, while a purple syrup runs along the slit and stains the apron. Against her right shoulder, the White Rabbit with immaculate fur, pink eye, and tall ears turns his snout toward her. The background remains dark, a deep green-blue, letting the light on the face and the white apron stand out. The calm expression of the sleeping face contrasts with what the cut reveals. A narrative and indulgent piece, ideal for adding a pop and slightly dreamlike touch to the interior of a collector devoted to popular culture figures.
