He stands upright, his long black cape lined with red snapping in the wind, a sword held low in his gloved hand. In front of him, a vast midnight-blue wave rises and curls into white-foamed claws, speckled with pale dots like a starry sky; further away, a second wave rolls near the snowy Mount Fuji. In the night, white birds streak over the waves and a few brown leaves whirl around the captain. In the upper right corner, a red cartouche bears the characters 宇宙海賊, “space pirate,” above the cartouche メドサン. The deep blue of the sea, the cream-white of the foam, and the vivid red of the cape, lined in gold, share the image. The space corsair seems to wait for the wave to come to him.
