All auctions / Contemporary Art / MEDSAN - Cloud Strife and the Materia (マテリアとクラウド・ストライフ) - UNIQUE WORK
THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1 On this square format, Medsan frames Cloud Strife, the hero of Final Fantasy VII, standing three-quarter profile on a green-veined rock ledge. He wears his spiky blond hair, his sleeveless black sweater, the spiked shoulder guard, and a long black tunic sprinkled with gold spirals that billows to the side. In his right hand, he holds the Buster Sword pointed toward the ground; in the gloved left hand, he raises a green materia that radiates, leaving a trail of emerald sparks, and his gaze rests calmly on it. The golden background splits into four panels: to the left a gnarled pine and large white chrysanthemums, to the right green waves edged with foam, and in the distance the dark tower of a reactor marked 神羅, the name Shinra. At the bottom right, the cartouche メドサン and a small red seal. The palette is dominated by green, black, and warm gold, like a moment of calm before the combat. An artwork with gold and emerald tones, ideal for adding a touch of video game legend to a collector’s interior or a Final Fantasy enthusiast’s space.
