Men's Islamic Ottoman ring - corresponding roughly to the years 1796–1797

Descriptio Made of silver-plated alpaca and set with a carnelian bearing an Old Arabic inscription. The inscription must be read in reverse, as the ring served as a seal. The most likely reading is ʿAlī Akbar. A date in Arabic-Persian numerals is visible at the bottom—possibly 1211 AH, corresponding roughly to the years 1796–1797—though the date is not distinct enough to be confirmed with certainty. It is thus most likely a Persian or Indo-Persian signet ring bearing the owner’s name.
