Merio Ameglio (1897–1970) - Vue de fleuve avec cathédrale gothique et animation

A colorful, atmospheric original oil painting on canvas by the well-known Italian-French painter Merio Ameglio (1897–1970). Depicted is a lively and sunlit scene on the Main riverbank in Frankfurt am Main with the distinctive Imperial Cathedral in the background. With his characteristic, dynamic and partly impasto brushwork, the artist masterfully captures the bustling activity on the river — boats, rowers and pedestrians. Ameglio, who is highly regarded for his impressionistic city and coastal views in the Paris School style, gives this historical Frankfurt view a very special, charming expression.
