This model (V17) was designed by the artist Andrea Merlini and produced in a Belgian plaster workshop around the 1950s (Mid-Century). The statue stands out for the beautiful color combination of a deep blue cloak with gold-colored details and the recognizable flowing, almost stylized Art Deco lines. Maker/Designer: Andrea Merlini Model number: V17 (marked on the back of the pedestal) Country of origin: Belgium Period: Approx. 1950–1959 Material: Polychrome painted plaster (chalkware) The statue is in a beautiful, authentic vintage condition. There is some light, age-related wear to the paint (small plaster spots visible at the edges and bottom), which contributes to the vintage look. No major cracks or restorations.
