Near East, Mesopotamia, ca. 3rd–2nd millennium BCE. A small gray stone pendant seal of rounded biconvex form, pierced through the upper body for suspension. The face is incised with crossed lines that divide it into triangular fields. The back is shaped into two hanging lobes, giving the piece a faintly figural quality that may relate to its use as an amulet. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.
