Congé militaire d'un TAMBOUR signé des Généraux Alexis SCHAUENBURG Général de Division, François VERNIER Général de Brigade et du Conseil de la 103e Demi-Brigade de Ligne, Fait à COLOGNE (Allemagne) le 23 Pluviôse An 10 (12 février 1802). Congé de Retraite au citoyen Conrad NIKELS, dit NIKELS Tambour de la 3ème Compagnie, natif du département de la MEURTHE. This soldier has served since 1778 and has always behaved with honor and bravery. On verso, medical examination certificate from Cologne Hospital. Crippled, "he experiences discomfort when walking, having had his feet frozen in the first Grisons Campaign." Engraved patent (26 x 39 cm) filled out in ink.
