Mexico 1864 "Eagles" Issue

Mexico 1864 "Eagles" Issue No Overprint. 3c. Brown, unoverprinted and uncancelled, with large margins all around but tight at right, and very fresh, top margin with small cut that touches the design. This stamp was an experiment for local city mail, with a total of just 2,403 issued in 1865-66; the unoverprinted versions are also very scarce and are likely to be remainders. Scott 18a: $700.
