Mexico 1874 "Hidalgos" Issue

Mexico 1874 "Hidalgos" Issue Chihuahua. 5c. Brown (39-82), and a pair of U.S. 3c. stamps, on an Express Wells Fargo envelope dated 3rd March 1883, from Chihuahua to New York. C.d.s. of forwarders in Kansas City and Deming, a "Late Arrival/Detention" marking, and New York receiving postmarks. On the reverse, a large area of adhesive residue, suggesting that it was affixed to a larger package that accompanied it, or that it bore an address label which has since become detached. Very scarce and visually attractive. Scott 106.
