Michael Elkan - Jewellery box - handcrafted jewelry box /...

An absolute masterpiece of organic design! For sale is a beautiful, handmade artisanal casket crafted from noble root wood (likely Maple Burl). The design reflects the unmistakable style of the renowned American wood artist Michael Elkan (Michael Elkan Studio), whose works from the 1980s and 1990s are world-famous for their organic design. Features: Fascinating contrast: The top of the lid is mirror-smoothly polished, perfectly showcasing the stunning, wild grain of the wood. Natural raw vitality (Live Edge): The side and front panels reveal the completely untouched, gnarly outer bark/growth form of the root wood. Invisible closure: The lid was cut and fitted so precisely from the block of wood that it follows the natural growth form millimeter-perfectly. When closed, the casket appears as a single, massive piece of natural art. Versatile use: Perfect as an elegant jewelry casket, storage for business cards, small collectibles, or simply as a sculptural design object for lovers of Mid-Century Modern and Organic Modern Design.
