Michael Joseph (1941-) - Daz, authentic darkroom print

Daz, London, 1960 Michael Joseph A wonderfully observed and characteristically witty photograph by British photographer Michael Joseph, capturing the theatre of everyday domestic life in early-1960s Britain. A woman in curlers and a floral apron sits beside a washing machine, surrounded by the unmistakable visual details of the period - from the patterned linoleum and laundry basket to the prominently placed Daz detergent packet. The combination of staged-looking composition and spontaneous expression gives the image a charmingly surreal, almost cinematic quality, while offering a fascinating glimpse into the visual culture and domestic routines of the era. The photograph is signed by Michael Joseph, with Daz and London 1960 handwritten on the mount. The verso bears the photographer's original label and presentation details, adding to its authenticity and period character. A highly evocative vintage photograph combining documentary observation, British social history and understated humour. Vintage photographic print, signed and annotated by the photographer. Image and mount as shown, size of mount is 40cm wide by 50cm high. Please note that an AI-generated simulation showing the photograph framed and displayed on a wall has been included purely to illustrate how the work might look in an interior setting. Scale and proportions are approximate and the simulation is intended as a visual guide only. The photograph is sold unframed. Thank you for your understanding.
