An important retrospective monograph dedicated to the Albanian-American photographer Gjon Mili (1904–1984), a major figure in 20th-century photography and particularly renowned for his explorations of the decomposition of motion and his use of stroboscopic lighting. The book combines personal memories with photographs: athletes captured in mid-motion, dancers and performers, portraits, and scenes from performances. Among the subjects featured in this copy are Pablo Casals, Emmett Kelly, and Woody Guthrie. A beautiful publication that serves as both a visual autobiography and a significant retrospective of Mili’s work. Condition: good overall condition; dust jacket shows some rubbing, creases, and minor wear on the top and bottom flaps and corners; interior is clean.
