Millville, Wisconsin. Wisconsin Valley Bank. 1857 $5. PMG Very Fine 25. No. 6162. Plate A. Here bidders have a truly rare opportunity for their consideration represented by an evenly circulated $5 Obsolete issued by the Wisconsin Valley Bank during the late 1850s. Now this note previously realized $3,737.50 when it last sold as part of the Philadelphia Americana Sale (Lot 2178) conducted by Stack's in 2009. Described then as "the only note on the title in any form in the collection," bidders are met with a population that has remained unchanged and are presented here with an opportunity that may not be repeated again for decades as this note is very likely to be consumed by an impeccable collection of Wisconsin Obsoletes. Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Provenance: From the Caine Collection. Krause Plate Note. Click here for certification details from PMG.
