Minimalist Cross Pendant With 2.70 ct Carré Diamonds in Gold, ca. 2000

Few pieces of jewellery reveal the taste of an era as clearly as the classic cross pendant. The fact that it has been worn for many centuries, combined with its little-changing basic shape, always shows us a certain zeitgeist through its design and decoration. Crosses with table cut rubies set in pinched gold settings are as unmistakably rococo as platinum crosses with milgrains and old European cut diamonds are Art Deco of the 1920s. This pendant shows us the minimalist and unadorned taste of the last two decades. For all its formal reduction, it relies entirely on the preciousness and quality of its materials. High-carat yellow gold forms the basic shape of the cross, with ten qualitatively fantastic carré cut diamonds set seamlessly close together inside. The stones weigh a total of about 2.70 ct and are set in fine white (Top Wesselton, G) with excellent, mostly flawless clarity (if – vvsi). An independent certificate confirms the quality of the materials. It comes with the cross that found its way to us from the west of Berlin. A creed that is as timeless as it is precious, and thanks to its subtle format can also be worn on a daily basis.
