Minimalist Solitaire Ring with a Diamond in White Gold, c. 1925

There are many ways to showcase a diamond as a solitaire. One of the most discreet, wearable, and suitable for everyday use is to set the diamond into the metal so that it lies flush with the surface of the ring and no prongs can catch on anything. This ring is designed exactly that way. The diamond features a classic old-cut shape, the predecessor to our modern brilliant cut. It weighs approximately 0.09 ct and has a delicate brilliance. The architecturally inspired ring shoulders and the interplay of geometric shapes are elegant and characteristic of the era, fully in the spirit of Art Deco. The ring was crafted in the 1920s. It is made of white gold that has been rhodium-plated. We discovered it here in Berlin.
