Minox 35 EL - Film Tested W/ Samples & Case | Subminiature camera

RARE Late Minox 35 EL (Upgraded GL Internals) - Film Tested W/ Samples & Case [Overview] Up for auction is a fascinating and rare late-production Minox 35 EL, the iconic model that launched the world's smallest full-frame 35mm camera series in 1974. While it bears the classic "EL" designation on the exterior housing, this late-batch specimen actually features the upgraded internal mechanism of the later Minox GL model, offering superior electronic stability and reliability. Fitted with the legendary, ultra-sharp Color-Minotar 35mm f/2.8 lens, it offers the ultimate combination of vintage aesthetic, compact convenience, and high optical performance. Technical Specifications: Dimensions: 100 x 61 x 31 mm Weight: 200g (with battery) Image Format: 24 x 36 mm Lens: Color-Minotar 35mm f/2.8 (sharp 4-element design) Aperture: Leaf diaphragm, continuously adjustable f/2.8 to f/16 Focusing: Manual zone focus (0.9m / 3ft to infinity) Shutter Speeds: Stepless automatic, up to 1/500s (longest speed depends on ISO set, e.g., 1s at ISO 400) Viewfinder: Direct finder with light meter needle scale (1/30s - 1/500s, plus over/under-exposure warnings) Film Transport: Manual dual-stroke lever; removable back for loading Flash: Hot shoe (X-sync at 1/90s) Battery: Originally PX27 (easily powered by modern 4x SR44/LR44 stack) [Film Tested & Sample Photos Included] 100% Real-World Film Tested: The last 3 photos in the listing gallery are sample shots taken directly with THIS camera using Agfa APX 400 film! Performance: As seen in the sample images, the exposure meter is spot-on across different lighting conditions, the Color-Minotar lens delivers stunning sharp contrast, and the stepless electromagnetic shutter operates flawlessly without any light leaks or shutter-lag issues. Optics & Viewfinder: The lens is crisp and clean—free from scratches, haze, or fungus. The aperture blades are pristine and snappy. Viewfinder is bright and clear for easy framing. Mechanics & Electronics: Fully functional light meter with an active, smooth needle response in the viewfinder. [Condition & Authenticity] Body & Originality: Excellent collector condition. Features intact factory wax seals in the screw holes, confirming it has never been tampered with or poorly disassembled. The front drop-down cover opens smoothly and locks securely into position. Battery Compartment Upgrade: Carefully insulated by the owner to prevent modern 4x LR/SR44 button cell stacks from shifting or short-circuiting against the metal chamber walls—making it completely safe, stable, and ready for modern everyday use. Known Quirk: The frame counter wheel currently does not advance/display numbers automatically (a common minor cosmetic quirk on these units). However, as demonstrated by the sample photos, it has zero impact on film loading, shutter actuation, or actual image capturing. [Included] Minox 35 EL Camera Body Original Minox Fitted Leather Ever-Ready Case (Note: The last 3 listing photos show real sample shots taken by this exact camera on Agfa APX 400). (Please inspect the high-resolution photos carefully as they form an essential part of the condition description.) Shipping: Will be packed securely with extra cushion and shipped fast with tracking and full insurance coverage.
