"Miyako ichiban Hirano jinja" 都一番平野神社 - Fu Takenaka (1945-2022) - Japan

Technique: Original woodblock print Artist: Fu Takenaka (b 1945-2022) Titled: "Miyako ichiban Hirano jinja" 都一番平野神社 Stamed and numbered in pencil by Unsodo (103/200) Japan - Heisei period (1989-2019) Fu Takenaka was born in 1945. She worked for a design company and started late with printmaking, in 2003. The artist works in the technique of the Japanese woodblock print. Fu Takenaka was a member of the Japanese artist association Nihon Hanga-in and well known in Japan. Ryuhon-ji is a temple of Nichiren School of Buddhist and was founded by Nichizo, the grand disciple of Nichiren. The temple had burned down and moved several times, and finally shifted to its current address after being destroyed by the Great Hoei Fire in 1708. Some of its temple treasures have been designated as an important cultural property of the country, while the temple buildings among others have been declared an important cultural asset of the town. The cemetery is home to the grave of a vassal of Ishida Mitsunari, Shima Sakon—nicknamed the Demon Sakon—who is said to be too good to be working under Mitsunari himself. She personally didn't finish the full 200 editions, so Unsodo helpt her family with these last ones. All the prints are send between hardboard and carton plates to prevent any damage in transport. Sending nearly worldwide, insured with tracking post.
