The Omega Iron Mining Company was incorporated in Minnesota and based in Minneapolis. The firm was likely formed to explore or develop iron deposits in Minnesota’s rapidly expanding iron ranges during the late 19th century. Although little documentation of operations survives, its ornate certificate with smelting vignette reflects the speculative mining ventures typical of the Iron Range investment boom.
