Ca. AD 500 - 700 > A Moche terracotta anthropomorphic jar modelled with a large frontal face beneath a tall segmented headdress. Smaller sculptural details and rounded projections articulate the reddish-brown body. Such imagery preserves information about dress, rank and religious ideas. > > Size: 280mm x 175mm; Weight: 1.25kg > Provenance: Private Rhineland Collection since 1960s. > This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. >
