The concept of balance and equilibrium is a recurring theme in Mohana van den Kroonenberg’s work. Her sculptures explore harmony and connection—a search for the point where movement and stillness meet. The 'Balance Horse' embodies this philosophy powerfully. The jumping horse, in balance on a narrow granite pedestal, captures the exact moment when dynamism and stability touch. Mohana’s animals — horses, hares, donkeys — radiate carefreeness. Mohana van den Kroonenberg (Amsterdam, 1967) studied mechanical engineering and biomedical technology at the University of Twente before pursuing her passion for art at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. After years of intensive sculpting, including a period in Paris, she has developed into a versatile artist. Her bronze sculptures are permanently exhibited and sold by Smelik & Stokking Galleries. In addition to being a sculptor, Mohana is also a writer. Her debut 'Moorddiner' (2010, Van Oorschot) was awarded five stars in de Volkskrant.
