Monstrance - Gilt brass - 1950-1960 - For Ostia Magna

Monumental Eucharistic Ostensorium – about 1950 Magnificent Eucharistic ostensorium, dating approximately to the mid-20th century, entirely made of brass with refined ornamental elements and a splendid gilded finish. An attractive sacred art piece with notable aesthetic impact, characterized by an elegant, slender composition rich in symbolic meanings. The central part features a refined pierced decorative apparatus, dominated by large finely shaped sheaves of wheat, the quintessential Eucharistic symbol, a reference to the consecrated bread and to the sacrifice of Christ. The vegetal forms develop harmoniously around the circular reliquary, creating a suggestive balance between liturgical solemnity and ornamental refinement. The reliquary, with a viewing window of about 11 cm, presents a hinged glass door and an original brass lunette, with a screw-adjustment system, intended to accommodate a magna host of about 6.7 cm in diameter. The presence of the original lunette constitutes a particularly interesting element for the completeness of the whole. Crowning the work is a beautiful apex cross in solid brass, while the elegant spherical node, the flared shaft, and the wide circular base give the ostensorium a solemn silhouette and perfectly balanced proportions. Particularly significant is the weight of about 2 kg, testimony to the substantial brass construction and the quality of the material of the piece. The ostensorium is presented in excellent overall condition, with physiologic and slight signs of time visible mainly on the polished surfaces, consistent with the period and without compromising the remarkable aesthetic value. An exceptionally charming specimen, ideal for collectors of sacred art, ecclesiastical collections, devotional environments, and prestigious private exhibitions. Its monumental presence also makes it a particularly evocative element in a study dedicated to religious antiquities or in a classical representative setting. Dimensions: height 52 cm, maximum width 24 cm, depth 20 cm, corresponding to the base diameter. Diameter of the viewing window about 11 cm. Compatible magna host about 6.7 cm in diameter. Weight about 2 kg. Photographs are an integral part of the description.
