A0000005178 The fountain pen is in an excellent overall state of conservation, presenting an impeccable aesthetic appeal and full structural functionality. This is a superb and coveted example of German manufacture Montblanc, belonging to the exclusive Meisterstück collection in its Diamond Classique variant, finished in its iconic high-density black precious resin combined with high-brightness platinum-plated ornamental details. The cap and the body of precious resin retain a deep mirror-like luster, free of cracks, fissures, or severe impact marks, showing only very light micro-scratches derived from extremely careful handling. The ensemble stands out absolutely with the crown of the cap, where the traditional white star of the brand has been replaced by a dome of transparent resin that houses inside a natural diamond, approximately 0.03 carats, floating. The gem is handcrafted with the Montblanc emblem silhouette, capturing and refracting light in three dimensions with exceptional brilliance under any movement. In technical terms, the clip ring—with a polished and clean platinum coating—clearly and cleanly shows the individual serial number laser-engraved “EU2261801,” as well as the origin inscription “GERMANY,” elements that unequivocally certify the authenticity of the piece. The three central platinum rings of the cap keep their reliefs clean and the engraving “MONTBLANC - MEISTERSTÜCK” perfectly defined. When removing the cap through its smooth screw system, one discovers the grip section and the heart of the piece: a superb handcrafted two-tone 14-karat solid gold nib (14K / Au 585) with delicate rhodium-plated details. The nib is in magnificent structural condition, with the tines perfectly aligned and without deformities. It bears the brand’s classic engravings, free of old ink residues, highlighting the number “4810” corresponding to the height of the mythical European summit. The stroke is Medium point (M), ideal for its fluency and writing balance, aspects corroborated by the presence of the original factory sticker with the letter “M” still adhered to the resin body. Overall, this is a high-end, discontinued writing instrument of great collectible value, blending the sobriety of Meisterstück design with the exclusivity of high gemology, preserving its distinguished character and presenting itself as a magnificent investment. Conservation recommendations: To ensure optimal long-term maintenance of the piece, it is recommended to clean the precious resin body and the platinum elements with a dry microfiber cloth after use to remove natural skin oils. It is advised to use waterproof-based inks from the brand itself and perform periodic cleaning of the feed with distilled water if changing ink color or if the pen will be inactive for an extended period. Additionally, it is suggested to protect the cap’s transparent dome from direct impacts against hard surfaces to preserve the integrity of the floating diamond. The lot will be properly shipped in its original white textured presentation hard case, accompanied by the corresponding Meisterstück Montblanc Diamond Certificate booklet and the outer black cardboard slipcase. (Note: The outer cardboard slipcase bears the designation "Rollerball" due to a logistical packaging substitution at its origin, although the case, the diamond certificate of authenticity, and the fountain pen auctioned are strictly original, genuine, and corresponding to the Diamond Classique line.) Happy bidding!
