In-12, red long-grain morocco, wide gilt frame decorated with interlacing lines and scrolls with fleurons at the corners, spine richly decorated with a thousand-point pattern, inner scroll, gilt edges, untrimmed, slipcase (Canape). A lovely edition, illustrated with a portrait of the author engraved by Augustin de Saint-Aubin on the title page, and 12 plates, including 10 by Regnault etched by Bertaux and finished by Baquoy, Halbou, De Ghendt, Patas, Lingée, and Ponce, and 2 by Le Barbier. A beautiful copy on large vellum paper with the plates in two states, including the pre-letter state. Rich Canape binding.
