An important morganite crystal with a very interesting color, featuring pearly iridescence. The crystal has no matrix but is of great value. Beryl is a mineral with the formula Be3Al2(Si6O18) belonging to the same-named group. It should not be confused with chrysoberyl, so named for its golden-yellow color (from the Greek χρυσός, gold), which is a beryllium aluminum oxide but belongs to the spinel group, and its best-known varieties are alexandrite and cymophane.
