A rare and very old earthenware cheese cloche, made by Mosa Maastricht (1883-1996). The company was founded by Louis I Regout and his son Louis II Regout. This cheese cloche dates from the 1920s. The cheese cloche is marked Mosa Maastricht Plateel. The cloche is cream-colored and features a hand-painted gray and black border (biezen). The cloche has a magnificently designed handle: a stylized mouse. It is fairly tall, so it can accommodate a sizeable cheese. It sports the clean, geometric lines typical of the Art Deco period. This cheese cloche is hard to find and is in excellent condition! It is completely intact. The cloche shows only a few light cracks, see photo. It is a stunning and large cloche. Dimensions overall: 22 x 20 x 14.5 cm. It is a visual asset on a beautifully set or festive table. For example, it looks magnificent on a beautiful weekend table or a Christmas table. Moreover, it is a collectible/design object that is highly decorative. The cheese cloche is carefully packaged and shipped insured.
