Exquisite antique Bohemian showpiece vase – Historicism circa 1880/1890 For sale is a museum-grade and magnificent cabinet vase from the late 19th century. The noble collectible is attributed to the renowned Bohemian glassworks Moser (Karlovy Vary) or to the fine Bohemian school of this era. Glass Art & Technique: It is a masterfully crafted triple-layered overlaid glass (Triple Overlay) in deep cobalt blue and opal white. The layers have been intricately pierced with an elaborate shell-cut to reveal the underlying clear crystal glass. Decoration: The vase is lavishly adorned all around with a relief-like gilt surface. The Historicist ornaments, floral acanthus and Baroque rosettes are executed in the finest handwork. Mouth & Base: The upper rim features an extraordinary, wave-cut contour. The base displays the characteristic, smoothly polished pontil mark as well as precisely faceted cuts.
