Mr. Straphanger - 12 Newspaper pages & strips - 1924/1929

Rare surviving episodes from various Sunday Comics sections, featuring episodes of Mr. Straphanger by Burt Thomas on one each single full page. Published in period 1924-1932. On the Back 'Betty', 'Bungle Family (most of them),... Only some images were selected. A less remembered Sunday strip from about a century ago was MR. STRAPHANGER by Burt Thomas, done for the Detroit NEWS and syndicated to a handful of papers. It began on February 26, 1922 and ended on April 10, 1932. Some of the later strips were re-issued by World Color Press in 1934-35. It is said to be part of a group of very early Sunday strips that looked pretty nice, but labored to be funny. The pages are in good condition, although wrinkles, tears, flaking and missing pieces may occur. The lots in this auction can be shipped combined. This is taken into account up to a weight of 5 kg.
