ew Mrirt rug, entirely hand-knotted in Morocco from premium natural sheep’s wool. Its soft ivory field, irregular black lines and nearly square format create a refined minimalist design. DESCRIPTION This exceptional contemporary Mrirt rug was handmade by skilled Berber women weavers in the Khenifra region of Morocco’s Middle Atlas. It measures 220 × 200 cm, a rare, almost square format that works beautifully beneath a coffee table, in a seating area, bedroom or modern open-plan interior. The rug features a warm natural ivory background crossed by fine, irregular black lines. Its deliberately understated composition gives it the appearance of an abstract drawing, while the contrasting dark border enhances its graphic character. Entirely hand-knotted from carefully selected natural sheep’s wool, it has a dense, thick and exceptionally soft pile. Its neutral palette and minimalist design complement contemporary, Scandinavian, brutalist, Japandi and bohemian interiors. After weaving, the rug was washed several times and naturally dried under the Moroccan sun. No chemical treatment was used. Slight variations in the lines, shape and weave are characteristic of genuine handmade production. They are not imperfections but part of the rug’s authenticity, making this piece completely unique.
