Magnificent blown glass art basket featuring an organic style typical of Murano or Empoli productions (Italy) from the 1950s to the 1970s. Glass highly enriched with uranium, giving it a bright and radiant reaction under a 395 nm UV lamp. Its ruffled and wavy edge, hot-worked (mouchoir or fazzoletto style), gives it a sense of fluid movement. Its very textured twisted handle, adorned with small glass spears stretched in relief (rostrato decor), provides an excellent grip and a superb interaction with the light. Its deep bottle-green hue was highly prized in mid‑20th‑century art glass (Mid-Century Modern). This type of object historically served as a centerpiece, candy dish, or decorative catch-all. Height: 20 cm Width: 17 cm In excellent overall condition, see photos.
