'Musings Late Afternoon' - William Oxer F.R.S.A.

'Musings Late Afternoon' by William Oxer F.R.S.A. Painting 12.0 x 20.0 :: 'Musings Late Afternoon' Oil on canvas 20 × 12 inches plus frame A quiet study of absorption and interiority Musings depicts a figure caught in an unguarded moment of thought. The vivid red of her blouse emerges from a surrounding field of deep blacks umbers and muted earth tones giving the composition both intimacy and an unusual pictorial intensity. The painting is concerned less with narrative than with state of mind: that private interval in which attention turns inward and the external world recedes. Loosely worked passages of paint sit alongside more carefully observed areas of flesh and fabric allowing the figure to emerge gradually from the darkness rather than being sharply separated from it. Presented in a hand-finished dark frame with aged gilt detailing and a warm ivory slip chosen to echo the painting’s deep tonal structure and warmer passages. Oil on canvas. 20 × 12 inches plus frame. :: Type: Painting Medium: Oil Style: Americana Subject: Women Width: 12.0 Height: 20.0 Depth: 1 Weight: 1 lbs Framed: yes :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
