Mystery swinging timepiece - Metal - 1920-1930

An oscillating pendulum clock by Junghans, the 'mysterious' clock with a swinging pendulum (or 'mysterious clock'), dating from the early 20th century (roughly between 1910 and 1925), depicting an aviation pioneer. Produced by the German watchmaking house Junghans in the period bridging Art Nouveau and the early Art Deco era. It belongs to the category of 'mystery' clocks with a suspended pendulum, a highly successful collectible genre born in France in the 19th century and then perfected by Junghans for the global market. Unlike classic desk clocks where the pendulum swings inside the case, here the entire upper block (casing + rod + lower-weight sphere) acts as the pendulum: the internal escapement of the manually wound movement transmits a micro-impulse with each oscillation, keeping the whole clock in constant harmonious swing from right to left. Externally the clock is in very good condition and shows no particular scratches, dents, or significant signs of wear. The mechanism requires servicing, but it is still in working order.
