Natalie Ulmann - "Balance - Bordeaux"

Clarity and spontaneity united: This abstract painting was executed on natural canvas and captivates with clear geometric shapes that the artist applied directly and precisely without stencils. Each line shows concentration, a steady hand, and a fine sense for form and proportion. This precise execution requires not only craftsmanship but also experience and a good understanding of color and material. The interplay of clear line work, natural canvas, and rich color application gives the work its special effect and value. The deep Bordeaux lends the painting an elegant, luxurious character and a strong visual presence. The robust color surface responds especially beautifully to light: depending on the incidence of light, glossy reflections emerge, while other areas appear matte and almost velvety. Thus the texture of the color and the kind of color application become visible again and again. The natural-colored areas of the canvas form a clear contrast and make the shapes look particularly beautiful. Balance stands for the equilibrium of form, color and space — and for the calm that arises when everything finds its place.
