An elegant tea container (o-natsume) decorated in gold maki-e with a willow (yanagi) motif. The surface is adorned with sinuous branches rendered in fluid, continuous lines, from which delicate trailing fronds descend. The design extends seamlessly across the body and lid. The interior is finished in nashiji lacquer. Complete with tomobako. Japanese lacquerware (漆器, shikki) represents one of Japan’s most celebrated artistic traditions. These works combine durability and brilliance with intricate decorative techniques such as maki-e and nashiji. ---The O-natsume is in very good condition. Please refer to the pictures for further details. The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy. 764
