Natural freeform from Turritella agate / fossil snail...

This extraordinary freeform sculpture displays an impressive density of fossil structures and reads like an frozen moment in ancient life. Across the entire surface, delicate, snail-shaped fossils as well as curved fragment lines run, creating a fascinating ornamental overall image. The fossils appear in light cream and beige tones and stand out clearly from the finely textured, gray-green to sandy-colored host rock. Particularly appealing is the natural distribution of the fossils: some appear fully preserved, others present as cut-open spirals or elongated fragments, producing a lively, almost graphic pattern. The careful polishing makes this detailed fossil structure shine, lending the freeform a calm yet highly engaging radiance. Turitella Agate, or fossil snail stone, is one of the classic fossil jewelry and collectible rocks. Pieces with such a high fossil density and clear drawing are comparatively rare and possess a special decorative as well as collectible appeal. As a display piece, this freeform exerts a strong presence. From different angles, new details, tiny spirals, lines, and natural inclusions become visible, revealing the ancient formation history of the stone. In lithotherapy, fossil material is traditionally attributed an grounding, stabilizing effect — a calm, nature-connected energy that harmonizes wonderfully with the archaic look of this piece. Stone: Turitella Agate Weight: 2261.23 g Size: 160x145x45 mm Treatment: None Origin: USA It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, with all parts from a log or branches silicified, meaning that organic components were gradually replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood: the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language.
