This impressive sphere of petrified wood unites the original structure of ancient tree material with an extraordinarily vibrant color palette. The characteristic grain of the wood is clearly preserved and runs in dynamic, sometimes flowing lines across the entire surface – a fascinating insight into grown structures that have mineralized over millions of years. In terms of color, the piece presents a particularly intense combination of deep red, warm browns and copper tones, and dark, almost black areas. Between them lie light, sometimes ivory-colored and slightly translucent zones that add depth to the overall image. The grain appears at times almost as if brushed on, creating an impressive visual movement within the stone. Fine natural lines and intergrowths traverse the surface and emphasize the authentic character of this material, without disturbing the harmonious overall effect. The high-quality polish brings the colors out powerfully and provides a glossy surface that reflects light softly. Through the combination of clearly recognizable wood structure, intense coloration, and the uniform spherical form, it becomes a particularly expressive and rare collector's piece with strong decorative presence. Petrified wood has traditionally been associated with durability and grounding – qualities that are subtly reflected in the calm, powerful aura of this extraordinary sphere. Extraordinary Quartz Hand Polished Sphere of Petrified Wood Weight: 2455,51g Size: 122mm Treatment: None Origin: Madagascar It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone : there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood : the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language.
