Natural petrified wood set from Madagascar – Millions of...

This exceptional set of petrified wood from Madagascar brings together three fascinating specimens that powerfully showcase the impressive bond between fossil history and mineral beauty. Over millions of years, the original wood structures were preserved through mineral processes and transformed into unique works of natural art. Each piece displays its own color world and grain pattern. Warm red, orange, brown, and gold tones meet dark contrasts and fine lines that still reveal the original growth structures of the wood today. The high-gloss polished surfaces make the natural patterns particularly striking and give the pieces extraordinary depth. The left specimen delights with vibrant red and orange hues, reminiscent of an abstract landscape. The middle piece shows a rare combination of dark, almost black areas and finely layered wood structures, highlighting the fossil origin particularly impressively. The right specimen combines warm red and brown tones with striking natural markings and offers a fascinating glimpse into the multi-million-year history of this fossil material. Petrified wood is one of the most fascinating fossil minerals in the world. Through complete mineralization the original wood structure remains, while the material simultaneously gains the hardness and durability of stone. The Madagascar finds are especially valued for their extraordinary colors and excellent polishability. Extraordinary Quartz Hand-Polished Petrified Wood Weight: 2436.69 g Size: - Treatment: None Origin: Madagascar It is fossil wood dating back about 200 million years; all parts of the log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were gradually replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony, and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood: silicon. And that’s what we commonly call a "petrified wood" in the ordinary language. The disclaimer about the healing properties as previously given: It is believed that certain gemstones and minerals have beneficial health and spiritual properties.
